iRobot Series Robot Vacuum Cleaners

A robotics company that has been a leader in its field for many years, Irobot For Hardwood Floors is now focused on home automation that is smart. Their robot vacuum cleaners boast pinpoint navigation and dirt detection.

In the frame-story, there is a story about a woman named Gloria who has a robot nursemaid named Robbie. Gloria is devastated when her parents decide to send him back to the factory.

Roomba

Roomba is a robot vacuum cleaner that operates autonomously. It is designed to clean floors and carpets, it navigates around furniture and other obstacles to clean the floor thoroughly. It also returns automatically to its dock to recharge, and can be controlled via a smartphone app or by the remote control.

The majority of Roomba models come with infrared sensors that can detect obstacles. They can also change direction when they encounter an obstruction. Advanced versions can create a floor map and determine the most efficient route to take. This allows them to clean a larger area in less time than older models, and boosts the efficiency. Some Roombas come with a squeegee which can be used to sweep up large debris like pebbles and crumbs. Others have a high-capacity bin that can hold more dirt prior to needing to be empty.

The iRobot Home app lets you set cleaning times, select when the robot should return to its dock, and control other functions like altering the number of passes. The app also gives you complete details of each cleaning job, including how long it took to complete the task, and if the robot came across an obstacle or canceled its job. The iRobot app can be integrated with other iRobot products, like the Braava m6, to automatically begin mopping when the Roomba finishes vacuuming.

iRobot introduced the S series of Roombas in the latter half of May, 2019. They feature smart mapping and advanced obstacle detection technology to help them navigate through the house. The S9 and S9+ are the most advanced Roombas iRobot has made to date, featuring 40 times more suction than the 600 series and 30% more brushes made of rubber for better edge cleaning. They can also create "Keep out zones", which prevent the robot from entering certain areas, such as a thicket cords.

The top of the line model is the j9+ that comes with everything the brand has to offer. This includes a self-emptying Cleaning Base, advanced obstacle detection, and automatic updates of iRobot OS. It can also learn from your habits of cleaning to prioritize rooms and adjust the power of its brush motors. It can even pick up deeper-entrenched dirt hairs, pet hairs and allergens.

Scooba

The irobot Scooba was designed to wash your floor without mess. It uses an active reservoir design that separates cleaning solution from dirty sand. It also uses three steps of cleaning that scrubs, washes and then squeezes the floor to remove dirt and bacterial. It can clean up to 150 square feet per cleaning.

The Scooba has a very easy operation. The top of the Scooba features three backlit buttons with clearly labeled labels. The largest button, Clean starts and stops the cleaning cycle. The Information button to the left will flash various colors to indicate the status, and the third button is a button that will start a specific task. There is also a small on/off switch and an electrical cord port.

It comes with a battery that you can replace if necessary. It takes about two hours to recharge, but is convenient for those who need quick cleaning. The Scooba also has a removable bottom plate to allow for easier cleaning of the bristles and vacuum holes. The battery slot is press-fit and a little recessed, but there is an O-ring to stop water from entering the battery compartment.

The Scooba cleaned most of our kitchen tiles during our tests, but struggled with our room for mud. It was able clean the mud but not the edges of the room and it could not get close to the cabinets in the kitchen. We also observed that we could easily have the round Scooba stuck under furniture. This was not convenient for us.

It did an excellent job cleaning the rest of our house however, and it was quick at doing so. It also did a great job cleaning the bathroom, and we didn't have to be concerned about lingering odors. The Scooba can be quite loud, and isn't the ideal choice for bedrooms or living room.

I noticed some gunk stuck in the vacuum holes on the bottom of the Scooba. This can be removed in part by washing off. This is crucial because obstructions in the vacuum can cause the bot stop functioning.

Braava

The irobot cleaner Braava jet m6 appears simple, but it has a lot of clever engineering that make mopping and navigation work well. The compact body, which measures 10x10x 3,5 inches and weighs only 4.4 pounds, allows it to move through tight spaces without damaging furniture. The cleaning head of the robot is designed to scrub hard floors, and its nozzle sprays water for wet mopping. It also vibrates to release dirt and remove stains.

The robot is equipped with the vSLAM navigation system that is the most advanced technology in home mapping. It avoids carpet and other obstacles. Its driving wheels allow it to get around corners and cliff sensors prevent it from falling down the stairs or falling down other steep drop-offs.
