For a long time the Korean scientific community was hesitant about engaging with creationists for fear of giving the movement more credibility. The silence is no longer an option.

They argue that evolution is not possible because it requires miracles. The pioneers of modern science shunned miracles because they feared they could lose their credibility.

Some creationists believe in naturalistic evolution as well as special creation, and call their view "theistic evolution." This is sometimes known as "continuous creationism" or "evolution from the original species." In this belief system, God creates the original species and then allows them to evolve over time. These evolutionary changes eventually will result in new species similar to the original.

Some creationists believe that God created all living things and the entire universe in one event known as the Great Flood. They believe that the first species were created at the same time, and that they evolved gradually afterward. In general, creationists are opposed to the teaching of evolution in schools.
