Best robot vacuum (you can try this out) and Mop Combos

Robot vacuums and mops have become more capable, acing our tests of cleaning and tackling various floor types. Look for models that let you choose from a variety of modes, and use their charging dock to self-empty, and clean up the stairs.

Many of the best models work with smartphones. Look for an app that allows you to save schedules, maps and choose cleaning modes.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

The gloss black and gunmetal Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive robot vacuums and mop combos available. It makes use of lidar to navigate, and create maps of rooms and floors (even multiple levels) and integrates with the free Eufy Clean application that lets you set schedules and customize the S1's behaviour.

When I tested the S1 It was quick to map our downstairs, which is home to linoleum flooring in the kitchen-diner and bathrooms, plus medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It was able to drive close to walls without hitting them and even managed to cross thresholds that were raised in the room without issue, though it occasionally had trouble navigating down stairs in a single move. The S1 also did an excellent job of cleaning hard floors, with its mop driving effortlessly on its flat side against the floor and then lifting itself when it was near carpet or rugs.

After every mopping session, the docking station on the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and fills up its water tank onboard with clean ozonated filtered water. The dock also includes a cleaning solution in the water for deep cleaning. The S1 water tank is able to hold up to 12 mopping sessions, however this will differ dependent on how often you use the mop.

Like all 2-in-1 robots, the S1 requires periodic maintenance to ensure it is operating well. You'll need to wash out the tank that has been contaminated to avoid it becoming blocked. Also, you'll need to clean the swivel wheel and sensors regularly to keep them from becoming clogged with dust or dirt. Overall the S1 is simple to maintain, especially compared to other combinations that require more hands-on maintenance.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

Ecovacs All-in-one robotic hoovers vacuum and mop provides a powerful solution for cleaning. The robot vacuum has 8,700Pa suction power and comes with many advanced features like voice control and smart path planning that cleans around furniture and avoids obstacles. The mopping capabilities of the robot are impressive, with mops that rotate that actually lift and scrub the floor instead of simply drag the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned and dried in the base station when needed.

Its navigation capabilities are good, too, even though it does sometimes get hung up on the tiny carpets or area mats that I have in my home (which is something you can reduce by creating a virtual boundary within the app). Its mopping capabilities are also excellent, with a pair spinning mops which can lift and scrub the floor, rather than just moving the pad across it. The mops can also be cleaned using heated water and dried in the basestation when needed. The mops are also refilled from the top of the base station when required.

3. Dreame X40 Ultra

Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was launched earlier this year. But their latest flagship model comes with even more impressive features. It delivers outstanding cleaning results and is easy to maintain. This makes it a contender for our list of the best mops and robot vacuums. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a longer side brush will give you an efficient, customized clean.

The X40 Ultra vacuums well, it can remove both large and fine debris. It is a great choice on hard floors and carpets. It also cleaned our test's dirtiest areas well, keeping pet hairs from getting caught in knots and other dirt. The sweeping capability of the machine is boosted by a sidebrush which automatically swings out in order to reach areas that are difficult to reach, robot vacuum and mop pads that run along baseboards.

Its navigation is smart it can navigate through narrow spaces and negotiating stairways without skipping a step. It is able to move from one room to the next without having to change direction. This is useful for large homes with multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance is not as advanced than that of some competitors, and leaves a huge space between obstacles. This can result in missing spots.

The interface of the app is easy to use and streamlined. It should be easy to use for novice and experienced users. The Q5 is an edgier version of the company's more pricier S-series models, including the flagship Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. It is equipped with the same LIDAR mapping sensors, but it is cheaper because it doesn't have mopping capabilities and comes with a plastic body.

The Q5 is one of the most powerful mopping and vacuums we've seen at this price, even though it's not equipped to clean your floor. It features a powerful suction of 5500Pa and an automatic vacuum cleaner and mop emptying system, so you don't have to empty the bin manually every time. It also comes with a smart app that lets you select the type of floor and schedule cleanings, as well as an automatic water tank refill and wash system that allows hands-free operation.

The mops also stand out with their 2700Pa power that can take on pet hair and dirt, on both carpets and hard flooring. The Q5 was among the few robots that we tested did not show issues with high-pile carpets and rugs. However, it did not pick up kitty-litter or cable tangles. This isn't surprising, since it does NOT have AI-powered obstacle-avoidance features.
