However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't come with an image sensor that lets it see the corners of an area.

However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also extremely quiet and can be used when you're at work or in school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. 2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles, like pet hair. It also has strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

This mop and vacuum combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky units of the rivals. It's among our most attractive looking robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It features advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot cleaner that is able to wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's also the only robot vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features that will let you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take charge of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and robot hoover structured lighting to draw out floor plans and detect obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazards detection however this was not completely foolproof in our tests, and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning robot mop and vacuum for different areas of your home in accordance with the degree of dirt they tend to be.

It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate the mapping process which collects information about your floorplan and any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or create a spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas to improve performance. The app also grants access to a host of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It has an impressive 8000 Pascal suction and sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like cute little eyes. It does a good job vacuuming, but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've examined.
